PROJECT
Science Fair Brand
& Campaign

STEM Adventure began as a custom embroidered patch for Emma Hutchinson Elementary School’s Science Fair and evolved into a complete visual identity for the event. I expanded the original concept across print, social media, environmental graphics and merchandise, creating a cohesive campaign designed to build excitement and recognition throughout the school.

STEM ADVENTURE

FEATURED CASE STUDY

From a Patch to a School-Wide Brand Experience

PROJECT

The project began with a request to create a custom embroidered patch for Emma Hutchinson Elementary School’s STEM Science Fair. Rather than treating the patch as a standalone graphic, I developed a visual direction that could become the foundation for a broader event identity.

THE CHALLENGE

The identity needed to appeal to elementary-aged students while remaining flexible enough to work across very different applications—from a small embroidered patch to posters, social media, merchandise and large-scale environmental graphics. Each piece needed to feel connected while still working effectively within its own format and production requirements.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

Building the Visual Identity

With the patch establishing the initial visual direction, I expanded the concept into a broader identity system built around bold typography, vibrant color, STEM-inspired iconography and character illustration. The system was designed to remain recognizable across different formats while providing enough flexibility to create new campaign materials as the event grew.

CAMPAIGN SYSTEM

From Identity to Event Experience

With the visual identity established, I extended the system across the full event campaign. The same typography, color palette, characters and STEM-inspired graphics were adapted across promotional, digital, environmental and merchandise applications, creating a consistent experience from the first event announcement through the day of the Science Fair.

CAMPAIGN APPLICATIONS
Bringing the Campaign to Life

The identity was applied across multiple touchpoints throughout the campaign, from event promotion and social media to large-format environmental graphics and merchandise. Each application was adapted to its format and production requirements while maintaining a consistent visual language.

Large-format banners, event signage and campus graphics carried the identity into the physical school environment, turning the campaign into a recognizable on-site experience.

PROMOTION + SOCIAL
Building Excitement Before the Event

Posters and social media graphics extended the campaign beyond the physical campus, using the same visual system to build recognition and excitement leading up to the Science Fair.

Extending the Brand Beyond the Event

The STEM Adventure identity was extended into apparel and promotional merchandise, adapting the campaign graphics for different products while maintaining a consistent visual connection to the event.

FINAL OUTCOME
One Identity. A Complete Event Experience

What began as a custom embroidered patch developed into a cohesive visual identity spanning event promotion, social media, environmental graphics, and merchandise. By adapting the original concept across different formats and production requirements, I created a consistent campaign that connected the school's Science Fair experience from initial promotion through the event itself.
